First of all, thanks for visiting the Canolfan Dewi Sant Centre website, and for clicking on this link. For those who don't know us, I am Theresa Curran, the Centre Co-Ordinator here at Canolfan Dewi Sant Centre and next to me is Dewi Williams, the Centre's Caretaker.
I manage the Centre's bookings, liase with all the agencies and groups that use our facility, promote our Centre within the Community and beyond, run the Facebook and Twitter sites, send out invoices, deal with telephone enquiries, emails ..... you get the picture.
I took up the position at the beginning of July 2014, and Dewi became our Caretaker in June 2017. Despite what he says, he didn't get the job because of having the same name as the Centre. Dewi is in charge of the opening/closing up of the Centre for all the groups, keeping it spotlessly clean and tidy and well maintained both inside and outside, helping with any day to day queries at the Centre etc. Very busy jobs for both of us!
Until my position was created, the Centre was run by a wonderful group of volunteers, who had all played a very important part in the creating of it. These very special people still play a vital part in the running of the Centre, as they are on the Management Committee, and are always around to support myself and Dewi.
It is a very exciting time for us all at the Centre, it really has evolved into
the HUB of the community - somewhere that is a base for lots of groups and agencies which can provide support and advice to those needing it; somewhere that people can go to be signposted onto the relevant agencies that can help; somewhere that provides fitness groups; martial arts, activities for babies, children, teenagers, the less able bodied and senior members of our community; a place people come to sing and make music - basically we like to think that Canolfan Dewi Sant Centre is a place of FRIENDSHIP and KINDNESS and where no one need feel lonely.
